Important 2014 Convention News

The Kentuckiana Regional Group would like to thank our Delegate to the 69th Annual BVA Convention, Michael Black.  There were 9 proposed bylaw amendments and only one passed which was a slight wording modification to the bylaws changing one word from singular to plural.  So while there were not sweeping changes that is sometimes a good thing.  We will ask Mike to give a report at the upcoming meeting.

There was one very important thing decided at this year’s convention that affects the Kentuckiana chapter of the BVA.  It was decided that next year the 70th National BVA Convention will be held in Louisville Kentucky. This means that we will be the hosting chapter for the convention.  It is important that we do our best to support the National Group to make next year’s convention a great success, so please join us at our meeting and help with the planning. This is a great time for our group to help Louisville shine.

September 19th meeting

It was decided that this year’s summer meeting would follow the VA support group meeting on September 19th.  We were not able to find an available conference room and the normal cafeteria is full at the time after the VA support meeting.  With that in mind we will be at the King Fish Restaurant, 3021 River Rd, for our BVA summer meeting. Mike Black and his Wife have offered to shuttle people to the meeting from the VA hospital if needed. It is a restaurant so you are able to buy a lunch but it will not be required.  This is an important meeting there will be a discussion regarding next year’s convention and our role in it.

The BVA meeting will start at 12:30 and you can start showing up from 12 to 12:30 PM.  When you arrive give the hostess Mike Black as the party’s name.  The meeting will last about an hour but there will be social time as well.
